seems that these compaq sblive / audigy drivers really fixed that SMP problem creative has always had… i haven’t had a single blue-screen since then. yey! a stable smp platform…

Parsing Arguments and playing Games
new (generic) command-line parser done (without a single goto!). hopefully it works like i want it to in all cases. plugins next on the list (but i’ll have to play a bit of “hitman – codename 47” first ;)).
Spoiled for Choice
yes, still alive! now that i finished DeusEx (excellent game, but so many choices… 😉 i can finish the new vStrip command-line parser, then do the plugin-interface and then release a beta…
Recompiled Desk Toy
updated neon genesis evangelion desk-toy again, now compiled w/ delphi 6 personal edition and a link back to my homepage.
it was link of the day over at http://www.animenewsnetwork.com, so thanks for that!
Never getting it right
updated the desk-toy again, seems that SetLayeredWindowAttributes converts color-keys to the screen-depth used, but only if no translucency is used. otherwise you have to adjust the color-key manually… huh?
Anti-Revision Coding
did some programming to prevent me from doing any revision: result is the cute neon genesis evangelion desk-toy, coded from an old win 3.1 program i found on the ‘net… try it, you might like it!
edit: circumvented a problem under win2k / xp that occured after task-switching from and back to it. somehow you have to reset the SetLayeredWindow-things for the window to be updated from the win GDI again after a task-switch (???). odd!
More Audigy Drivers
compaq has released new drivers (newer than creative’s) dated 2002-03-18 for the sb-live & audigy and those haven’t crashed (BAD_POOL_CALLER on closing the wave-out device in winamp) yet (knock on wood). you can find them here (377mb, i.e. the whole install cd). remember to delete the CToem-config file (or they won’t install). these are working fine for me so far…
