Ordered the laptop on the 18th, it was shipped on the 21st and should be here tomorrow. Knock on wood.

Taking the plunge
Then ordered myself a really nice laptop (the price-range of which my parents do not entirely agree with…). I just hope that Dell‘s build quality is nice enough, in particular the keyboard – which according to reviews has not always been good…
Virii and Spam for free
Could people please make sure that they a) don’t run any sort of stupid attachments and b) don’t have Sobig.C? I’ve gotten about 60 copies of that particular worm in the past week, and it’s getting annoying. The “usual” (if there is such a thing) audience is probably be well aware of that, but it never hurts to mention it anyway…
Incidentally, my GMX-account has surpassed the 5000 Junk-mails border (which is quite something in 3 months). 🙁

Creative has published new Audigy drivers. Maybe these manage not to crash in TetriNet… 🙁
This or a Reinstall
Upgraded my RAM to 1gig. System feels much more responsive (and it’s at about 1/3 the price I paid for my original 512mb).
Language Jewels
Did a little scripting in Ruby, and it is a really neat language (with a huge amount of nifty bindings), although embedding it is next to impossible. I also think that my Ruby-“style” leaves a lot to be desired, I need a Ruby-style-guide or something to see how things are really supposed to be done.
