watched the patlabor ovas on friday and was positively surprised. it has a very strange plot-layout for an oav, but it works. definitely mamoru oshii.

will be watching lots and lots of “dual” tonight… (quite a change after nearly 13 episodes of “slayers try” straight…), “educate the rabbit” on saturday, problem sheets and swimming (hey!) on sunday… hmmm… so when am i going to work on my palm projects and/or vStrip??? hmmm2…

got my region 1 “ghost in the shell” (after selling my abysmal uk r2 to some poor chap (hi chris!))… much better! audio is in sync, and the video is (nearly) progressive… (not as good as mononoke, though ;))

never, ever (!) buy the manga-r2 release of “Ghost In The Shell”… I made that mistake… Both audio tracks (english and japanese) are out of sync, the subs in general are badly synced, video quality is abysmal: severe interlacing/ghosting (i don’t know which frames they transferred, but it ain’t the original 24fps (more like “we’ll pick a few inbetween, so it’ll look really bad on a progressive displays) and it destroys the quality of the original animation) and compression artifacs (82mins in 2.4GB). is the us-release as bad? anyone know?

watched FLCL#6… well… looks like GAINAX actually managed to do a “proper” ending… wrapped the story up pretty well… i’m still looking forward to the movie, though! ^_^ (thx alex!)
