i’d still love to use hibernate. don’t know where the problem is… BootVis doesn’t write its log, /BOOTLOG only logs on a regular start-up (not a hibernate-resume). i’m stuck. even when i use all signed drivers (highpoint for adaptec 1200a, disable wintv), it freezes on resume. maybe the tyan-bios needs updated ACPI-tables?

symptomatic success
with the new winamp (2.79) the problem does not seem to occur anymore (new wave-out plug-in). that doesn’t mean it’s not there, creative… and why can’t you fix problems if they “only” occur in winamp? [edit: problem still there.]
valued customer
creative support says if soundblaster audigy wave-out crashes in winamp, i should just switch to direct-sound. _this_ is the sort of problem fixing i like. NOT!
ONE exception
got the controller on friday, installed it. system works fine w/ ONE exception: i often get a stupid BAD_POOL_CALLER (freeing memory twice) blue-screen from the soundblaster audigy driver when winamp reinitialises the WAVE-out (probably when it is closed and the reopened).
quick replacement
maxtor replacement drive arrived (sent the RMA web-form on saturday night). now just waiting for the adaptec 1200a to show up… then it’s the familiar OS reinstall (did that about 6 times over the weekend due to controller-troubles, hard-disk failing, hard-disk working again, hard-disk failing, etc.).
no more promise
still trying to get my computer to work. returned FastTrack TX4 as it (according to tech-support and many blue-screens) does not support hypernate / power-management. ordered adaptec 1200a instead. while it might not be as fast, i hope it works. ordered advance replacement for the maxtor 80gig drive that broke after 5h.
still alive
spent the weekend playing LAN.
